Microsoft announced the release of SQL Server 2012 Service Pack 3. As stated via a blog by SQL Server Engineering Team,
Microsoft is pleased to announce the release of SQL Server 2012 Service Pack 3. This service pack provides updates to help workloads from a performance, scalability and diagnostics perspective.

Here are the updates,
Enhancement: Performance, Scalability
- Improvements to consistency check performance.
- Improvements while performing a SELECT INTO operation involving a temporary table.
- Spatial query performance improvements.
Enhancement: Diagnostic, Troubleshooting
- New logging capability for Lease Timeout messages added.
- Non-yield detection logic improved.
- Improvements in diagnostic messages while executing backups.
Enhancement: Query Performance Troubleshooting
- For tracking physical I/O statistics, memory used and rows affected, Hash Warning and Sort Warnings will now have additional columns.
- New hash_spill_details extended event introduced to track more information for hash and sort warnings.
- The actual rows read will now be reported in the query execution plans for enhancing query performance troubleshooting.
