Microsoft Acquires Big Data Vendor Metanautix

For making things easier for big data analytics and facing the challenges in data analytics, Microsoft has acquired Metanautix, a Big Data startup.

Metanautix

Metanautix’ technology connects the “data supply chain,” irrespective of what the type, size or location of an organization’s data. Through the technology, it would be easier for tech teams to connect company’s information across private and public clouds. And yes, this is possible without any costly, difficult procedure of moving data into a centralized system. So, this solution has the capability to integrate data across SQL Server, Oracle and other traditional data warehouses and also with MongoDB, Cassandra which are NoSQL databases. It can also integrate data across Salesforce.com. Metanautix-Acquired

Microsoft corporate vice president Joseph Sirosh stated via Microsoft blog,

In the coming months, we will have more to share about how we will bring Metanautix technology into the Microsoft data platform, including SQL Server and the Cortana Analytics Suite. As someone who has led complex, large scale data warehousing projects myself, I am extremely excited about the technology and talent we are bringing to Microsoft with this acquisition. It is another important part of our ongoing efforts to build the intelligent cloud and help our customers fully realize the value of their data.
